My cold has gotten worst of me, probably more to do with getting next to no sleep last night, however I feel like *#&*(@$^. I'm sitting at my computer, staring at it zombie like, trying to stay awake. If I nap now I'll have another bad night. But I really want to sleep, the weather outside is frightful, and I don't really want to do anything else. Anyone want to cook dinner tonight? I'm thinking waffles.
After all that venting here are a few updates from past posts:
*Our church nursery does not need to use a 5 gallon bucket as a diaper pail after all. After that post I received two offers of diaper pails. Why did I not just send out a church-wide email asking for a diaper pail? Because that would not have made a good blog post.
*Oh, if you didn't see the update on last Wednesday's post, WFMW - My New Vacuum, the vacuum is from Sears and is a Kenmore Canister Vacuum, Blue, Progressive. It has two Mf. Model #'s 27514 and 27515 (one of the models has a longer power cord, by two feet.)
*Rachel Anne, in case you are reading this, I received the book last week. Thank you very much. I can't wait to read it, and one of these days I'll send you an email to confirm its receipt.
*Have no fear Lori, there will be plenty of Toblerone. In fact, I saw some huge blocks of it at Walmart and will be stocking up before the Christmas supply disappears.
*And too pat myself on the back, I headed to Target this morning to cross a few more items off my Christmas shopping list. I LOVE TARGET! Oh, and speaking of getting organized for Christmas I came across this great blog where the writer displayed her Christmas organizer ... and now I can't find it to share with everyone:( If you are that person, or you know who the blogger is, please leave a comment directing everyone to that wonderful posting.
Ok, well when I organized this in my head it sounded a lot better. I thought I had a few more interesting updates, other then the diaper pail, but now I'm scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Hey a cliche! I used a cliche. Second pat on the back.
Stay tuned for at least one more posting this week. With it being Thanksgiving week, I'm organizing EM's Thanksgiving party, Hubby has a funeral and we are all traveling up and down the highway (yippee skippy) I'm not planning on posting a whole lot. Then again, it all depends on how the family get-togethers go.
When you are a parent you have two choices; either laugh at the situation, or hide.
(Just don't let the kids see you laugh.)

Update - Fall Into Reading
In September I joined Callapidder Days fall reading challenge, read Fall Into Reading 2008. To be perfectly honest my list was somewhat anemic, especially compared to some of the other participants. However, since kids my reading has been limited to middle-of-the-night feedings and before I went to bed (this tends to last for 5 minutes, before my eyes close for the night.) Speaking to my competitive nature, a challenge was exactly what I needed to find my reading mojo.
So, how far have I gotten? Well, thanks to a sick day (yes, a mom got a sick day. Someone note this in the annuals of history) I'm almost half way through my list. Presently, I'm reading The Good Husband of Zebra Drive, by Alexander McCall Smith, and finally I finished Beth Moore's The Patriarchs. (Yes, finally! It is a 10 week study. I started it in March and finished it mid-October.)
Now that I'm
Once I'm done with The Good Husband I'll return to my Jane Austen read-a-thon. Only two more books to go, and then I can start the modern adaptations. However, those may need to wait for the spring reading challenge.
Oh, and I have a blog must-read. Katherine, over at Raising Five, posted several articles on kids and chores. Now she has five kids, ranging in age from a preschooler to two teenagers, so she knows something about chores and working with kids at different ages. I'm all over that one.
What are you reading? Did you join the fall reading challenge? If not it isn't too late to join.

That Would Have Been Helpful
I've just spent the last hour fighting with my computer. Trying to print several .pdf files; either empty pages would come out of my printer or nada would happen. That is on top of filling out an application twice, because the first time I clicked on the "close" button instead of the "back" button, oops.
Finally, I decided to restart the computer. Earlier today the kiddies had used the computer to access the internet, and I'm not sure what it is about PBSKids.org or any other kid oriented sites, but my computer always runs slower afterwards. I'm so looking forward to when they can have their own computer. But then starts the whole management battle, and who gets to play on it, and for how long, and do we allow internet access on their computer. At least with my computer I can tell them "no, it's mind." Of course, I then receive a lecture on why it is nice to share, God likes it when we share, :::crickets chirping:::
Sorry, I digress. Anyway, it turns out my .pdf files are not printing because the Adobe application (or is it called a program?) needs updated. Really, must their be new updates every few months? I'm thinking, the next time they have an update, hold it, do absolutely nothing, keep developing until the next update and then send it all out at once.
And, I digress again. So, all those update notices I received from Adobe (and quickly deleted) were actually for my own good and could have saved me about 45 minutes.
