Welcome Home

We arrived home Saturday.

We arrived home to a pile of newspapers I had discontinued for the week. A very annoyed cat. A pile of mail. A mowed lawn (thank you) and a fridge full of veggies.

There is a moral behind this little store: Beware of who you give your house key too when you leave for vacation. For, if the person with a key also maintains a garden at their house, who knows what you may find when you return home.

Soon after arriving home Hubby called his parents. His Mom asked if we had checked the fridge. Thinking of milk and eggs (since he was heading out to the store) Hubby was very excited. Sorry, no, not milk and eggs.

No problem. We loved the produce. That evening we had a healthy bean and tomato salad to go along with our not so healthy beef barbecue sandwiches. Monday night my chicken stir fry turned more into a chicken pasta dish thanks to the tomatoes. And tonight we polished off the corn .... ummmm, I love corn cooked on the grill.

However, I had to laugh. The weekend before my M-I-L was saying how glad she would be when the green bean plants were pulled up. No matter how much you love green beans there can be too much of a good thing.

What was sitting in my fridge? Yep, a gallon size bag of green beans.

Do you have a garden and don't know what to do with all those green beans, tomatoes, zucchini, .... Offer to house sit for a friend or family member.

**********And I say AGAIN ... We loved the produce. We are still loving the produce. The produce is much appreciated. Thank you. But, it does make for a funny story.
