I'm Not Looking

Did you hear that?

I didn't. At least I'm pretending to not have heard it. Or, possibly, it was something on the kitchen counter just settling. Settling where? Down for Bed? You know, how bags might settle after being moved, set down on the counter. However, nothing on my counter has been moved since lunch time. 6 hours later, ... not thinking so.

I'm sitting at the kitchen table typing away. I don't normally sit at the kitchen table while on the computer. I'm usually sitting in the living room, in front of the TV, with the laptop on my lap ... but I get less done then.

The problem with sitting in the kitchen is that I begin to hear noises. Noises that don't make sense, and can only mean one thing. And, well, I'm not willing to admit that one thing as fact.

So why am I not looking at what is making that noise?

In the past we have had tiny, furry visitors hanging out in our kitchen. The four legged rodent kind.

I firmly believe that ignorance is truly bliss.

Until our cat catches one, or one ends up dead under our TV stand, or stuck in a water bottle. Until then, no mice here. Absolutely none.

Ignorance is bliss.
