Works-For-Me-Wednesday

We are painting at our house. OK, a friend has done most of the painting, several weeks ago he completed it. I'm still working on the trim of the rooms he has finished before I move on to the other rooms. We're going to be painting for sometime.

But, the task has gotten easier thanks to a tip from our friend the painter. Completing the trim, and once I get there the edging, has never been so easys with painter pad.

They come in different sizes, larger for edging. Smaller for trim, they even have corner painters. The pad keeps a better, straighter line then a paint brush and covers better. The job goes by faster, even in difficult places and moulding.

The edger does have some cons. You need to feather the paint, smooth it down, as you apply the paint otherwise you will end up with paint ridges. Keep those pads moist because the edges do dry out and they seem to wear out quickly (which you can tell when it starts leaving little strands in the paint.)

Yes, the edger takes some getting used to, but still so much more convienent and works faster then a paint brush. Now that I'm done with the trim in our living room I can't wait to try the large paint pad to work on wall edges.

Painting, painting, gotta keep on painting.
