From Caterpillar to Chrysalis

Yesterday, while at a friends house, we watched a caterpillar turn into a chrysalis.

For whatever reason, and maybe because I read Charlie the Caterpillar a few too many times, I thought the caterpillar wrapped himself into a chrysalis.
That is not the way it happens. In fact, the process looks more like something out of an alien movie. The chrysalis is formed right under the caterpillar's skin, and when completed the skin splits, and then shed from the chrysalis.

It makes you wonder what God was thinking when he created the caterpillar? Something cute, something amazing. To entertain school children around the world, and remind us of our Creator.

To see pictures of the process head over to No Ordinary Moments for some pictures.
