Happy Back To School Day!
Oh glorious day, I am sitting in a peaceful house. EM is playing PlayDoh, the radio is playing, at a reasonable volume and it's "my choice", and I can hear myself think. You don't realize how much the noise level effects you ability to think, write, even make dinner, until you can't do anything because kids are running around the house. Plus there is the added distraction of needing to intervene every 5 minutes, clean up a mess, or go on a kid hunt because it suddenly became very quiet.
So what is my plan now that the kids are in school?
Good question. I have a growing "to do" list that includes all projects I need to finish and those I want to start (and then need to finish), and of course there is cleaning the house. During the summer house cleaning was at a minimum, sweep up the inch deep crumbs on the floor, wipe off the dark ring forming in the toilet, the cleaning necessities.
Today I need to make the kid's back to school special snack and polish off the minutes from last night's meeting before sending them out. I could no some more organizing for our church's nursery and Sunday school.
Or, I could take the advice of one grandmother from the bus stop. After the kids boarded the bus she called out "time for Bloody Mary's!" Sign me up, I have 180 days to complete all those items on my list.

Back to school for the kids, back to RL for Moms. :(
The summer is gone and winter is around the corner. At least you have a to-do list to fulfill. :)
