Works for Me Wednesday


Today's Works for me Wednesday is a themed edition, First Wednesday of the Month. This month's WFMW: Summer Recipe Edition.

And here is my summer recipe: The Grill.

Now, you may be saying to yourself "gee Erin, that sounds swell, but where is the recipe?"

No recipe, just the grill. Have meat, will grill. Have fresh veggies from the farmer's market, will grill. I set aside the menu planner for the summer ***gasp***, and pick a different meat each night and turn on the grill.

This week looks like this:
Sunday: Hamburgers (Hubby makes the best hamburgers)
Monday: Chicken
Tuesday: Stir fry, from Monday's left over chicken and last Thursday's left over steak + fresh veggies from that day's farmer's market visit.
Wednesday: Sausage and hot dogs
Thursday: Don't Know. (Told you I set the menu planner aside for the summer.)

I don't get too fancy. Just meat, with a marinade or BBQ sauce. Some veggies, hanging out on the grill tray smothered in olive oil, maybe garlic, and then seasoned with kosher salt. Our favorite is potatoes sliced french fry style.

At the end of the week I take all the left over grilled meat, and left over veggies, and make a stir fry. This is not done on the grill. I realize that requires turning on the stove, but it is yummy.
