The Facts of Life

Hi all! I'm getting a late start to the week. I had a great post all set up (in my head) to run on Monday, and then the Great Sick Epidemic hit me Saturday night and ran its course Sunday. With Sunday being spent in bed I'm behind in my week. This means that my great post about our awesome weekend (minus the sick part) will post tomorrow.

And now to our regularly scheduled posting:
Oh by the way, my blog has surpassed the 1,000 mark. That means over 1,000 visitors have come to view my little blog.

We recently enjoyed a family meal at Red Lobster (or as much as you can enjoy it with three young children.) When you enter the restaurant an aquarium full of lobsters is there to greet you. Yeah!, for the lobsters since it keeps the kids enthralled while we waited for our table. Eventually JT asks, "Dad, are they [lobsters] pets?"

We believe in the direct approach with kids, and tell them like it is. So Hubby answers "to eat, they are on the menu." The kids were stunned into silence by this answer. The other waiting guests began to laugh.

And you thought this was about the birds and the bees. Nope, this fact of life can be filed under "no, food does not come saran wrapped from the grocery store."

For more tiny talk (or big talk involving tiny questions) visit Mary at Not Before 7.

****Note. The question JT asked was changed after Hubby read the posting and called me to correct the question. Meaning, JT did not ask "why do they have the lobsters?" but "are they pets."
