Extraordinary

This weekend I piled into the car with several friends and we headed to the Extraordinary Women Conference, in Lynchburg, VA. Of course a whole weekend away (without kids) is extraordinary, a weekend with my hubby is always excellent. This weekend was one with friends, and that is always fun.

Little did I know (since I didn't read the promotional materials) that the Conference theme was Discovering God's Dream, Jeremiah 29:11. This is one of the two verses that became my own theme verses after loosing my independent consultant gig earlier this year. The verse reads:
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"
My second theme verse is Psalm 46:10,

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Oh, I do love God's timing, it is not always mine and it may not be what I want, but it is always what I need. This time around it was a reminder that He is in control and encouragement to follow His promise.
