A Thorough Search ... AKA Type A Strikes Again

We are having a neighborhood yard sale, and I am participating.

There is a box in the basement, overflowing with to-be yard sale items.  The play room is overflowing with toys, period.

The kids are on board with selling certain toys, I think.  Every time they see me organize and price a different toy there is a new argument as to why the toys should stay.

Hubby is restraining me from placing price tags on anything not moving.

I manged to get the boys on the selling bandwagon when they saw the most awesome toy at the local crash and dent store, and they are looking to raise some funds.  And, I agree with them, it is the most awesome of toys.  I don't mind getting rid of several tubs of toys, for this most awesome of toys will only take up one of those tubs.

Getting ready for the yard sale becomes a full-time, intensive job.  It isn't enough for me to round up the toys and household items, sort and price.  I also need to put everything together, make sure everything works, and all the pieces belonging to the toy are present and ready to leave this house.  This means I am scrounging through drawers, tubs, toy chests, under beds, in sock drawers, the corners of closets, under sofas, and in cupboards for these lost pieces.

There must be an easier way?

On the bright side, our drawers, tubs, toy chests, under beds, sock drawers, closets, under sofas and cupboards are now organized.

On the other bright side, pricing is easy; I am pricing to sell.  So, pray there is no rain on Saturday.  I like a good yard sale, but I am not hard core.  I might set up in the garage Saturday morning, but I won't be dedicated to seeing the morning through.

You're right, there is nothing easy about doing a yard sale. But think about how great you'll feel when it's all said and done! Good luck!
