Yesterday we were driving around town and debating whether to stop at McDonald's then for ice cream or wait till after dinner and visit Dairy Queen with Dad. (Trying to use up all those coupons overflowing in my purse.)
The kids, being kids, preferred the instant gratification of ice cream now, but when I explained that at Dairy Queen we could order Blizzards JT was all for Dairy Queen. ED, sitting in the back of the van and probably couldn't hear as well, kept asking why we would get lizards instead of ice cream.
Eventually we opted for Dairy Queen and while there, eating our Blizzards, ED again asked when we would get our lizard. My husband looked at me slightly confused and again I tried to explain that we came for BLIZZARDS, the ice cream and Oreo Cookie mix sitting in front of him. He must of been too tired to care since he made no comment and went back to eating his ice cream. Then, while walking back to our cars EM asked about getting a lizard.
I just looked at my husband and smiled. Then wished him good night, and good luck, as I was heading out to a friend's house for the evening and he was left to explain that the ice cream we just ate was called a B-L-I-Z-Z-A-R-D, and that there would be no lizards.
